Wem Angling Club was founded by a handful of passionate local anglers shortly after World War II. Over the decades, the club has grown in size and reputation, while preserving its welcoming spirit and love for the sport. Hawk Lake’s history, once part of an estate with ties to the Hill family and landscape designer William Emes, makes it one of the most fascinating fisheries in the UK.

Our members enjoy exclusive access to a range of prime waters, including the historic Hawk Lake – a breathtaking, man-made lake with a rich past dating back to the 1700s. We also manage several other local waters and purpose-built pools, offering peaceful settings and diverse fishing all year round.
